Purple Mag sat down with the rising pop sensation Adanna Duru following the release of her NAPPY HOUR EP.

 
 

PM: What do you want people to know about Adanna Duru after listening to NAPPY HOUR? 

AD: I am proud to be an African woman. 


PM: Why is it important for you to make music on your own terms? 

AD: I want other black women to feel seen. I want them to feel like they can be anyone they want to be.

PM: What is one piece of advice you would give Adanna 5 years ago? 

AD: Don’t worry so much. Focus on deepening your friendships with the people who see you.
