Book Review: Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister

A page-turning thriller that I couldn’t have put down ever if I tried.

How strong of a force is a mother’s love? Is it strong enough to stop, or even rewind, time?

In this excruciatingly addicting novel, Gillian McAllister chronicles the story of a mother who is up late waiting for her son, only to look out the window to see her mild-mannered, perfectly behaved son stab an unknown man to death right before her eyes. To her surprise, she wakes up the next morning and it’s the day before the stabbing. She continues to travel back in time until she is able to understand, and then alter, the course of events, leaping back to present day when she has successfully stopped the murder from occurring.

Unfolding a new secret with each chapter, and sometimes with each page, this is one of the most riveting novels I have ever had the pleasure of reading. It no point in the story was I able to predict what happens next. As the main character travels back in time and discovering deeply meaningful secrets that her husband and then her son are holding, we are able to see what the deepest and purest love looks like in real time, and how far a mother will go to preserve her family.
