Book Review: One Last Job

Anise Starre writes the perfect steamy, low-conflict end of summer romance.

Anise Starre continues her “Flights and Feelings” series with another sweet, steamy love story. “One Last Job” shows overtime feeling so, so good.

A talented but held-back interior designer, Amber Wyatt, meets her client, the charming but oh so detail oriented Finn Hawthorne. He can charm just about anyone - anyone except her.

The two instantly clash, but throughout the project, they find they have more empathy for one another than they could have imagined. The two follow a dislike-to-lovers path, with some steamy scenes mixed in with many, many, swoon-worthy ones. Starre shows characters who are flawed yet loveable, and find their way to each other with minimal conflict. This angle is refreshing, to say the least, amongst many of the heavier novels in the genre. In “One Last Job”, Amber and Finn will have you rooting for them like no other couple before.

"The Flights and Feelings series is a series of sweet and steamy romances that centre Black women being loved on! That's so important to me and all my books will always include that aspect. They're lighthearted, fun, low conflict and I'm so happy to see how they resonate with readers around the world!" - Anise Starre, Author
